Consignment Fees
Bowie Livestock runs a professional and responsible horse consignment business. Our mission is to make sure our buyers and sellers and their animals have a positive experience on our horse sale days. One of the ways we ensure that all visitors to our horse sales stay safe and happy is through our consignment fees. Here are the common fees sellers can expect to pay on sale day.

Bowie Texas Livestock provides a Soundness Guarantee to our buyers. All horses sold through our catalog sell sound according to the following definition:
- The horse moves free of any limp or gait abnormality on all four legs as viewed by external examination. This does not include an extensive lameness exam with flexion test, x-rays, or ultrasound examination.
- The horse can see out of both eyes
- The horse does not crib (suck wind)
- The horse does not weave
- The horse is not proud cut
- We do not accept any imaging as a form of unsoundness.
- If selling a stud or mare as a Reproduction animal, we will require a vet letter stating that they are breeding sound.
All horses come with this 72-hour soundness guarantee unless otherwise stated by the seller.
We advise all buyers to do a Pre-Purchase Examine on any horses that you are interested in purchasing.
All Bowie Texas Livestock Operations abide by guidelines set forth by the Texas Animal Health Commission. The catalog entry requirements for equine in Texas are as follows:
- Certificate of veterinary inspection within the 30 days prior to entry into Texas.
- Proof of a negative EIA test within the previous 12 months prior to entry.
Any horse that does not meet the above requirements is not eligible for entry into the Bowie Texas Livestock catalog.
All out of state customers must have a Health Certificate and current Coggins.
